CANADIAN ACCELERATOR + INCUBATOR NETWORK
CAIN is an influential network of Canadian Accelerators and Incubators who create one voice for the innovation ecosystem through collaboration, education, and connection.
OUR INITIATIVES.
165+ General Members
CAIN has over 165 members, each an accelerator or incubator, representing Canada coast to coast (all 10 provinces, plus the Yukon). CAIN’s membership is diverse in its geography, the industries it focuses on, and the growth stage of the companies they support.
POLICY & ADVOCACY
We work closely with strategic partners to arrive at research, reporting, and recommendations that support the government in crafting policies and programming to have the greatest impact.
Data & Storytelling
Our Startup Tracking Service aggregates existing online data to help members to stay on top of their stakeholder reporting and client success stories through a dynamic online dashboard.
The Business Accelerator and Incubator Performance Measurement Framework is a partnership between CAIN, incubators and accelerators, MAIN, ISED, and Stats Canada. It harmonizes data collection to build high quality data that tells the story of how the startup ecosystem creates value in the Canadian economy.
COMMUNITY PLATFORM
Our monthly call for all General Members helps us stay connected and up-to-date on CAIN’s updates and initiatives. It also serves as an opportunity for General Members to discuss shared challenges and solutions. CAIN also has a Slack community for General Members to connect and share information regarding updates around events, programs, team, and policy.

We work with our Policy & Advocacy Working Group and our Membership Council to arrive at research, reporting, and recommendations that support the government in crafting policies and programming to have the greatest impact.
Each Working Group is led by a Member Chair and Vice-Chair and self-organizes to identify key challenges, develop and implement strategies, and create meaningful solutions that support our ecosystem. These Working Groups connect with relevant community partners and share opportunities that will benefit CAIN and the community we support. Learn more here.

WHAT IT MEANS TO BE A GENERAL MEMBER.
Join an organization focused on supporting innovation in Canada through enabling Canadian Accelerators and Incubators to become their best. We help our members to access national and international networks and perspectives, connect with their peers and learn from each other, and leverage our network effect and collective voice to generate greater impact and better serve our communities.
MEMBER BENEFITS
ACCESSIBLE AND INCLUSIVE
By offering our general membership freely to all who meet criteria, we enable inclusivity and avoid barriers in Accelerators and Incubators joining the network and including their perspective and voice. It is a priority for us to understand all perspectives, not just those who can afford to contribute in a paid capacity. We ask for active and honest participation in return.
CONTRIBUTE YOUR VOICE
Participate in shaping the future of innovation in Canada through CAIN initiatives. Share your truth and help inform CAIN’s reporting, management, initiatives, and policy & advocacy efforts. Learn from CAIN reports how you compare to your peers nationally on various topics and what you can take away and apply. The more we all know, the more we can consciously navigate together.
ACCESS OPPORTUNITIES
Tap into the relationships, resources, and opportunities available through your peers and CAIN’s initiatives. CAIN builds relationships directly with government and ecosystem partners, such as corporations, investors, and media, to develop solutions to solve General Member pain points and advocates for CAIN objectives.
